Finding Spirited Monsters

List, lists, glorious lists...

The following are my three favourite animated features from the past decade, however i'm struggling to decide an order - can anyone help with this?

Do you agree with my choices or do you gravitate more towards the likes of Wall-E, Up, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Fantastic Mr Fox (this is very close to my top three), Triplets of Belleville (which I have yet to see), Persepolis, Shrek and/or Waltz With Bashir?

  1. I liked Monsters Inc but I was bored by Spirited Away (sorry :p)

Finding Nemo is one of my favorite films of the 00s.

    Put it no1 now! :p

  2. Same here...I really wanted to like Spirited Away but found it a bit slow-paced. It's lovely eye candy, but I don't find myself wanting to go back to it too often.

Out of the "films for kids which adults are allowed to like" category I have to go for Wall-E. I loved that film - a typical Pixar film which works on so many different levels.

Overall though, Waltz For Bashir is my favourite animated film of the past 10 years. Absolutely stunning...the kind of film that leaves you shellshocked for a few days afterwards.

  3. Not Spirited Away fans?! - scoundrels!:)

I think the problem is I only ever saw Nemo once when it came out - could do with a second viewing, that would probably determine my final placings.

Sean here does like Waltz a fair bit (B+/B) but not as much as Kev (A-), who rates it highly but we often argue about that one for a variety of reasons...

  4. Oh, I love Spirited Away! See The Triplets Of Belleville! I thought Finding Nemo was good, but it got a little old on second viewing. But really like Monster's Inc!
